No time to post every day? Have an AI agent write your week of posts
Posting is the job that falls off when you run a business. An AI agent turns a few lines about your week into a post for each weekday, in your voice.
You don't have time to post every day because you're running a business. Hand the writing to an AI agent: once a week you send it a few lines or photos about what happened, and every weekday morning it brings you that day's post in your voice, ready to copy. Your part shrinks to a few minutes a week, and you still post each one yourself. The quickest way to get the agent is HostNest, set up for you in about 10 minutes; or use the steps below with an agent of your own.
Why does posting regularly matter?
Accounts that go quiet fall behind. Buffer's study of 2.1 million Instagram posts compared each account with its own usual growth and found: "Channels that don't post at all significantly under-perform their baseline growth rates." The posts don't need to be clever. They need to keep coming, and the material is your week: the job you finished, the question a customer asked, the photo already on your phone.
What does the agent do?
- Every Monday, it asks what happened in your business this week. You send a few lines or photos.
- It turns them into five posts, one per weekday, in your voice: short, plain, one idea each.
- Every weekday at 9:00, it brings you that day's post in Telegram, ready to copy, with the photo to use.
- You say yes, change it, or skip it, and you post it yourself. It keeps a list of what's gone out, so it never repeats itself.
Don't have an AI agent yet?
The quickest way is HostNest, a team of Claude agents. You sign up yourself, and the rest comes ready: your own server in the EU (a computer that's always on), the agent, and its wiring. It takes about 10 minutes, most of it the server being built:
- Account: your email (we send you a 6-digit code) or Google.
- Free trial: 7 days free.
- Telegram: a few taps create your bot. The bot is yours.
- Claude: while your server is built, you read four safety rules. Then you sign in to your paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Ultra or Team) and paste back one code.
- Live: open your agent in Telegram and send it the message below.
After that, the upkeep is handled for you: updates install themselves overnight, a failed one rolls back on its own, and the server is backed up daily. Its Monday and 9:00 checks survive restarts and updates. Get your agent on HostNest
One HostNest customer already works this way: three times a day, his agent drafts a channel post and sends it to him for approval. 132 published since mid-August, nothing without his OK.
Do I need to code? No. You talk to your agents in Telegram. How long does it take? About 10 minutes, most of it the server being built. Will it do things without asking? It checks with you before anything goes out or costs money, unless you tell it it doesn't need to. Is my stuff safe? It runs on your own private server in the EU, with your own Claude login, and it's backed up daily.
Already running an agent of your own? The steps below work on any agent that can keep a daily check.
How do I set it up?
- Tell your agent what your business does, who it's for, and where. Paste three posts that sound like you, yours or ones you like.
- Send it the message below.
- It sets itself two checks: Monday morning to ask about your week, and every weekday at 9:00 to bring the day's post.
- On Monday, send it a few lines or photos. Typing works; voice notes need an OpenRouter account connected.
- Each morning, copy the post and post it yourself.
What message do I send my agent?
Copy this, fill in the brackets, and send it to your agent:
You're my social media writer.
My business: [what I do, who it's for, where].
Here are three posts that sound like me: [paste them].
Every Monday at 9:00, ask me what happened in the business this week. I'll send a few lines or photos.
Turn them into five posts for [Instagram / Facebook / LinkedIn], one per weekday. Write them in my voice: short, plain, one idea each, something a customer would want to know or would smile at. No hashtag walls, no buzzwords.
Every weekday at 9:00, send me that day's post ready to copy, with the photo to use.
Never post anything yourself. If I say skip, keep it for a later week.
Keep a list of everything I've posted so you never repeat yourself.
Set these up as checks on your server so they keep running. What does a week look like?
An example, for a made-up bike repair shop. On Monday you send: "Fixed 12 bikes, a customer asked about winter tyres, new chain tool arrived" and two photos. Tuesday at 9:00 the agent sends:
Today's post (photo: the bike on the stand): "Winter's coming. If your tyres are worn smooth, wet leaves will find out before you do. Bring it in, the check takes five minutes."
Four more follow, one each morning.
What won't the agent do?
- It won't post anything. You do. If you want it to post for you, that connection is built on request with your own login, and it still checks with you first.
- It doesn't make images or videos here. It picks from the photos you send (it can read photos and documents up to 20 MB).
- It checks with you before anything goes out or costs money, unless you tell it it doesn't need to.
- Its first week takes a few corrections while it learns your voice from your three examples.
It's how our founder's own posts get made: HostNest's writer agent drafts them from what happened, and he says yes and posts each one himself.
